Archipelago is a 26-metre woven installation commissioned by the Finnish government to mark Finland's presidency of the Council of the European Union. Comprising eighteen separate panels mounted side by side, the work depicts an abstracted image of the Finnish coast — its flora, fauna, and landscape translated into shifting patterns of leaves, water, and flowers at different scales. The surface has a three-dimensional, relief-like quality achieved through a material that expands when steamed, giving the work physical depth as well as visual movement.

First installed at the Europa Building in Brussels, the work is held in the collection of the Finnish Maritime Museum, part of the National Museum of Finland.
